Washington University School of Medicine and BJC HealthCare, in partnership with Bi-State Development, are completing a major upgrade to the Central West End (CWE) MetroLink station. Highlights of the project include the installation of wider stairs, a new canopy that will cover a larger part of the platform, and a welcome center at the Euclid entrance to the station. Construction work at the station also includes barricades for pedestrian safety.

The project will also involve the installation of a new passenger elevator. To accomplish this, the station’s existing elevator was taken out of service in December 2019 for demolition. The new elevator is expected to be completed by August 2020. Those in need of an elevator will want to use the platform’s accessible entrance, which is on the platform’s eastern end. This entrance is accessed through the Metro Garage.
