In order to meet the needs of curriculum renewal and new teaching pedagogy, the Operations & Facilities Management Department and Medical Education completed renovations in October of 2020 of the MD student carrel spaces on the 3rd and 4th floors of the Farrell Learning & Teaching Center to create state-of-the-art team-based active learning group meeting rooms, lounge and study spaces.  Newly renovated space will attract MD student usage and give additional students access.  These spaces are part of the foundation necessary for curriculum renewal.  They are intended to keep Washington University School of Medicine competitive and increase program enrollment and overall tuition revenue.

The project scope included converting the 3rd and 4th floor FLTC space into student study lounges and multi- purpose group study/small meeting rooms. In addition, the project scope included additional exam rooms and office space updates to the 5th floor of FLTC.
