Access to Facility/Badging

All building faculty, staff, and trainees will be granted badge access to the building entrances and lab floors 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

Additional access requests to specific floors or rooms, as well as visitor access requests, must be made through the Facilities Integrated Service Center (FISC).

If Center for Comparative Research access is required, a specific badge should be requested as outlined in the Center for Comparative Research section (Administrative & Lab Services).

Badges for Washington University School of Medicine and the Neuroscience Research Building are issued by the FISC, which is located in the lobby of the Mid Campus Center (MCC) at 4590 Nash Way. The FISC is open Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Email WUSMFacilities@email.wustl.edu or call the FISC at 314-362-3100 with questions; or visit the FISC for additional information.

The Facilities Integrated Service Center (FISC) is the central point of contact and processing for all work orders and move related issues at the School of Medicine. Please call the FISC at 314-362-3100 to report all move related issues. The center serves as a liaison between campus customers, service providers, emergency responders, and business managers. They offer a variety of business services, including new employee badges, parking and Metro cards (U-Passes).

Bridge Connections

The Link will connect from the Mid Campus Center through SLCH garage to the 3rd Floor Neuroscience Research building leading into Kaldi’s. It will be about an approximately 10-minute walk going through the link.

Custodial Services

Routine and detailed cleaning is scheduled once a day, Monday through Friday, from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm. Custodial porters will be in place Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Mail Delivery, Receiving & Shipping

The mail room is located on first floor of the NRB, room 01036. You may access this room via the service elevators and traversing down the circulation corridor, second door on the right. There are assigned/designated mailboxes located here. There is also a collection box available for metered, inter-office and USPS mail. Mail is collected from this box daily from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.

WUSM Mail Services staff will be in the office, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm if you have something that does not fit in the collection box. Mailbox keys will also be available to collect during this time.

Please include your mail stop code assigned to your department (campus box number, building number and floor/suite number)

The receiving dock for the NRB will be located on the lower level and be manned by OFMD Mail and Receiving staff. The dock hours will be 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday - Friday. Occupants or their runner staff can collect packages from the receiving dock during normal business hours

Office Essentials and McKesson can deliver directly to your desktop location. Vendors delivering to desktop locations may use the loading dock for access. You must include your name and suite number on all orders

FedEx, UPS, and all other Vendors will deliver items to the NRB loading dock on the lower level. (Please include name, NRB /and suite number) and address to:

Move Resolution Center

  • The NRB project and facilities teams are here to help support you during your transition into the building and post-move. If you have a move-related issue or request, please submit a request form using the Submit a Move-in Issue Service Request button above or call the Move Resolution Center at 314-758-6720. The project team will review your entry and take the appropriate steps to ensure items are resolved in a timely manner.

Reporting Emergencies on Campus

Physical Security Lock and Key Shop

The Physical Security Lock and Key Shop at WUSM is located in the Biotech Building, room 308. Keys can be picked up at the shop Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. To reach the Lock and Key Shop please fill out a work order in ServiceNow, by phone at 314-362-8377 or by email at protectiveservices@wustl.edu.

This group of employees cut keys for departments, including desk and cabinet keys, are responsible for the repair and installation of door cores, and the installation or card swipe/key pad/single door access control within a department. They maintain an up-to-date computerized list of key holders.

Lost keys must be reported immediately by contacting Protective Services at 314-362-4357.

Access Control and ID Badges

Each department/division within WUSM has a designated person(s) who can request a badge and the required access for new and established employees. These persons are the only ones who can submit the ID badge request in ServiceNow. Please see your immediate supervisor for the name of the person(s) with this authority for your department/division.

All photos should be attached to the ServiceNow badge request. Badges are picked up at the Facilities Integrated Service Center (FISC). The FISC is located in the lobby of the Mid Campus Center (MCC) at 4590 Nash Way. The FISC hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am-5:30 pm.

All employees, faculty, staff, and students are asked to wear their photo ID on their outermost garment anytime they are on campus. If the ID is lost or stolen, during business hours please call Access Control at 314-362-1580 immediately or after hours call Protective Services at 314-362-4357.

NRB Safety Orientation

Being well-informed about building safety protocols and procedures is important. To equip you with knowledge on safety and key aspects of the building, we encourage everyone to view the NRB Safety Orientation. This orientation features the Emergency Management, Protective Services, and Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) teams reviewing NRB-focused information, frequently asked questions, and WUSM campus safety reminders.

Transportation & Parking

Transportation and Parking (T&P) facilitates campus access to faculty, students, staff and the community for university business and activities. T&P provides well-maintained parking programs to support the university’s sustainability goals, enforcement to protect the rights of permit holders and visitors, support for campus events, safe, convenient and reliable alternate modes of transportation and the management of information resources of parking facilities and transportation services.

T&P enforces the parking rules and regulations at Washington University School of Medicine at all times. All vehicles on campus are subject to Washington University’s parking regulations. Each operator is responsible for knowing and abiding by these rules.

The NRB has a connected garage with 1,846 parking spaces. If you are a new parker with no current WUSM parking, please click this link to sign up for parking in the NRB Garage. If you already pay for parking and want to switch to the NRB Garage, please complete this form and bring it to the Facilities Integrated Service Center (FISC) in the Mid Campus Center (open Monday-Friday, 7 am to 5:30 pm).
