The project involved the renovation and renewal of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors of Renard (18,900 square feet) in support of the Department of Psychiatry office and education needs. The project was completed in September of 2020, with occupancy beginning in October of 2020.
The renovation’s goal was to increase space quality and efficiency, allowing the department to bring together additional psychiatry faculty and staff from across campus to a central location. The renovation freed up space in the Taylor Avenue Building allowing for an adult psychiatry clinic in that space.
The project also allowed for the decanting of existing space in the Maternity Building 8th floor, McMillan 8th floor, Biotech 3rd floor, and Renard 6th floor. The Maternity and McMillan space will be renovated in a follow up project for the Department of Anesthesiology in support of their clinical growth for faculty offices.
